The gameplay is what you would expect from an RTS style of game. You have to make buildings, get troops, watch resources, plan your attacks and so on. I found that the game handles everything very well and it is not over complicated like many other RTS games can be.

The battle system is actually pretty awesome. The different units in the game work on a kind of rock, paper scissors system. For example, pikemen can defeat cavalry, but swordsmen can defeat pikemen. The different units can be upgraded as you progress through the game which as you would expect makes them stronger.

There are more powerful units that you can use like Hobbits which have their own special abilities. Speaking of special you can also use heroes such as Gandalf which is pretty awesome. You can unlock various special abilities as well as upgrading your buildings and troops so it always feels like there is some kind of progression happening.
